Our Beliefs
|
We believe the good news of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection is relevant to all people and has the power to transform our lives, the Town of Paradise, and our world. We believe we were made to love God and to express that love together through loving others in word and deed.
At HIAC we live out this faith informed by our Anglican roots, connecting this good news of Jesus with our contemporary world.
Our Anglican Roots
HIAC, along with Anglican Christians around the world, affirm our belief in historic Christianity as revealed in the Bible and summarized in statements called creeds: The Apostle’s, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds. These creeds along with the 39 Articles of Religion and the Solemn Declaration from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer express the central beliefs of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Five Marks of Mission, used widely throughout the Anglican Communion:
To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
To teach, baptize and nurture new believers
To respond to human need by loving service
To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and
to pursue peace and reconciliation
To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
