ALTAR GUILD
The main function of the Altar Guild is to provide for the reverent care of the Sanctuary Area of the Church. Traditionally the Altar Guild has been comprised by members of the ACW; however in recent times it is open to all people within the Parish.
The members of the Altar Guild set up the Sanctuary Area on a weekly basis for the Divine Liturgy; in addition they care for the flowers in the Sanctuary, make the Palm Crosses for Palm Sunday; clean the sacred vessels of the Parish, and as stated in the opening sentence provide for the reverent care of the Sanctuary Area. They proved and care for all the work that takes place prior to and following the weekly divine liturgy. They are an essential link to the work of the church's liturgy, just as server's greeters, ushers, choirs and lay minister s all contribute to the weekly services.
